Material
Body, shield and ball stud Low carbon steel, tensile strength 415-435N/mm2, 60,000-63,000psi. Body and ball stud are case hardened.
Spring 302S26 stainless steel. Equivalent AISI 302.
Protective Finish
Body, shield and ball stud Zinc plated and yellow passivated; body and ball stud de-embrittled. The assembly is lubricated.
Details
- SAE J490 Style 1 – detachable ball joints.
- The spring loaded outer shield allows both rapid release and reconnection of the ball stud. Linkage assemblies can be installed or removed without disturbing pre-set centers.
- QI Ball Joint is available without integral ball stud for assembly to a pre-positioned ball stud. The ball studs are also available separately.
- Hexagon form of studs facilitates assembly.
- Knurled shields, to assist grip, will be introduced to eventually become standard to all sizes.
